MOVEMENT THE BAILEY BRIDGE IN THE ÚSTÍ NAD LABEM

Bridge Dr. Edvard Beneš, built in 1934-1936, is 90 years old and will require reconstruction. The bridge connects the urban part of Ústí nad Labem and its adjacent part of Střekov over the river Elbe in a length of 175 m. When the bridge is closed, it will be necessary to replace the movement of pedestrians and bicycles, therefore a temporary bridge will be built, which will take over the current role of access to both parts of the city. The load-bearing bridge structure is a copy of bridges of this type, such as Bailey Bridges, with the same length of 175 m but a different structure, so the main bridge span will be 67 m. However, this span will not span this type of structure when extended and a support will be needed in the main bridge span, so we designed a 4 x PMSS assembly with stabilizer supports and a modular series on its own fully hydraulically adjustable support, which can smoothly eliminate the deflection of the structure during extension. For our own extension, we used 2 x MTB10 with a capacity of 2 x 10 tons, which ensured smooth movement of the structure, which lasted 1 day for the advanced part.

Thanks to our technology, it is possible to build a support in the river in one day, then move the bridge and remove the support in the next day, this is a great time saving, regardless of the fact that there is no need to interfere with the bottom of the river and thus destroy what nature has created.

thanks to the whole team!
